Fourward is about following your heart, and discovering what you truly love to do in life. No matter what you love to do, you have within you the potential to be utterly successful. As hokey at that might sound, it really IS just a matter of finding your passions, keeping a positive attitude, and then patiently and persistently working towards your goals. They are all simple principles, but rare is the person who embodies them all. Fourward clothing quietly reminds its wearer of these principles, and of their great potential.

According to statistics from the US Department of Agriculture, it takes about 3 ounces of chemicals (pesticides and synthetic fertilizers) to produce enough cotton for one t-shirt. In other words, for every five or so regular cotton tees in your dresser, about a pound of chemicals were sprinkled, sprayed, and/or dropped onto the Earth. Those fabulous chemicals then make their way into surrounding ground water, and you get the idea.... And keep in mind that these numbers are for the US. Imagine what's happening in countries with less stringent laws and regulations! Why not use fabrics that have a lower environmental impact than conventional fabrics, and are more sustainable in general?

Every company should contribute something positive to society, above and beyond their business offering. Although there are many great causes to which I could contribute, I felt that an entrepreneurship competition for high school students would allow me to make the biggest impact. That is why the Keep Moving Fourward Entrepreneurship Competition was born. Small businesses are the lifeblood of the global economy. More kids and young adults need to be made aware of the fact that they can have their own business, and potentially do something that they love for a living!
